Let's Talk Structure!

It’s a word we bounce around often in the HR space and with good reason! When chatting with one of our Consultants for the first time you will likely be asked “What can you tell me about your structure?”.  This gives us insight into how you operate and what the balance is between those working IN the business from an operational perspective, and those working ON the business with a strategic focus.

Often, when structure is mentioned, it sets off alarm bells and strikes fear into the most pragmatic of business owners. However, looking at structure is fundamentally measuring the needs of the business against the available resources with a logical and rational eye; ensuring we are operating as efficiently as possible to realise the maximum potential of the business. 

Of course, as we navigate these challenging times during this global pandemic, some sectors are sadly experiencing revenue loss that does require downsizing and it is crucial any reshaping of the business is undertaken legally and with genuine openness and integrity.

Not all restructures do necessarily result in redundancies, sometimes an external eye examining your operational processes can pick up opportunities to streamline processes or functions simply by aligning or rescoping roles and responsibilities in consultation with your team and following proper process.

For us to provide effective HR guidance and truly partner with your business to ‘walk the journey’ alongside you in these times, it is important for us to keep a record of how your business is made up.
