About the Role:

On behalf of our client we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Professional to support their finance operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with both their NZ team and Global CFO based in Melbourne.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Manage end-to-end wages and payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments.

  • Complete month-end accounting, including journals, accruals, and variance analysis.

  • Prepare and lodge GST returns in line with NZ regulatory requirements.

  • Produce accurate and insightful financial reports for internal stakeholders and the Global CFO.

  • Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.

 

Systems & Process Excellence

  • Maintain well-organised financial records and documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in finance or accounting roles (3+ years preferred).

  • Strong understanding of NZ payroll, GST, and month-end requirements.

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data analysis).

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, ACCREDO, MYOB or similar).

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across NZ and Australian teams.
