About the role:
This is a sole charge role where you'll lead the delivery and growth of our national technical support function. Acting as the go to expert for electrical compliance, best practice, and industry updates, you'll support our members directly, while also engaging with regulators and industry bodies to advocate for their needs.
You'll be at the heart of what's happening in the sector, creating technical resources, contributing to legislation feedback, and representing Master Electricians on key matters of policy and regulation. You'll also play a key role in our annual Apprentice Challenge, which is always a lot of fun!
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering expert advice to members on compliance and legislation
Developing technical resources to support member best practice
Responding to all member queries and continuously improving our advisory service
Supporting our Regional Managers with technical knowledge
Representing member interests with regulators and at industry events
Assist members through processes such as EWRB hearings, providing guidance and support where needed
Creating technical content and articles for newsletters, publications, and the ME website
Contributing key insights to our Senior Management Team and Board
Maintaining accurate records through our CRM system
The ideal Technical Advisor will:
Have 7+ years' experience in the electrical industry with strong technical 'know how'
Hold their Electrical Inspector qualification
Be confident interpreting legislation and turning it into practical, easy to follow advice
Bring strong communication and have great people skills
Enjoy working independently and be highly organised
Be confident using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Have a genuine desire to support and represent others
