Finger Joint & Paint Line Machine Operator - Papakura

Their team is growing, and they are seeking a skilled Finger Joint and Paint Line Machine Operator to join a manufacturing operation based in South Auckland. This is a full-time, permanent position suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude and experience in machine operation and maintenance. You will need to have a great work ethic and enough experience to hit the ground running.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Setting up and operating the finger jointing machine according to production specifications
Monitoring alignment, glue application, and pressure settings to ensure strong and accurate joins
Inspecting timber quality before and after processing
Adjusting machine settings to maintain consistency and minimise waste
Identifying and resolving operational faults to minimise downtime
Operating and monitoring the paint/coating line to ensure consistent application
Adjusting pressure, flow, and machine settings based on product requirements
Inspecting finished products to ensure coating quality meets required standards
Cleaning and maintaining nozzles, pumps, and filters
Troubleshooting issues such as uneven coating, blockages, or pressure loss
Performing routine machinery inspections and preventative maintenance
Diagnosing faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Working with maintenance teams to resolve complex issues
Maintaining accurate maintenance and production records
To be considered, you must have:
A Restricted or Full NZ Drivers Licence
A Site Safe Passport
Relevant qualification or experience as a Mechanical Technician
Proven experience in machine operation and maintenance
Strong mechanical and technical knowledge
Experience troubleshooting and fault-finding in a production environment
Ability to read and interpret technical information or production requirements
In addition to this, it's important that you are a team player who is customer focused and enjoys working in a team environment. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be organised and punctual.
You will receive a salary of $75,000 - $79,000 per annum depending on your skills and experience and will be provided with a minimum of 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday on a night shift from 3:00pm to 1:00am. Occasional Saturday work may be available.
