Services Manager - Manawatū

Our client operates in the electrical and technical services sector and has built a strong reputation for reliable service delivery and long standing client relationships. With a solid team already in place, they are now looking for the right leader to step in and help strengthen the service side of the business.
About the role:
This role provides overall leadership of the service department, with responsibility for the performance, development and day to day operations of the team.
You will work closely with senior leadership while managing technicians, coordinating workflow and ensuring strong service delivery to clients.
This is a pivotal role within the business, responsible for strengthening how the service team operates and supporting the next phase of growth.
This role will suit someone who enjoys balancing people leadership, operational oversight and commercial responsibility, and who is comfortable leading change and helping improve systems, structure and performance within a growing team.
The role comes with a competitive salary, along with a company vehicle, fuel card, phone and laptop to support you in the role.
What you will be responsible for:
Leading and developing the service team, including technicians and support staff
Driving the department’s operational and financial performance
Scheduling work and coordinating resources across the service team
Pricing service work and supporting accurate job costing and estimates
Monitoring department revenue targets and contributing to financial performance
Managing workflow, job delivery and client expectations
Using systems such as Simpro to manage jobs and documentation
Overseeing invoicing processes and supporting strong debtor management
Maintaining and strengthening relationships with key clients and suppliers
Supporting improvements to processes, systems and operational efficiency
Playing an active role in strengthening culture, leadership and team capability
Supporting positive change within the team as systems and processes continue to evolve
Our Ideal Services Manager:
This role requires someone who combines technical understanding with strong leadership capability. You will be comfortable working with technicians, clients and senior leadership, and confident managing both people and performance.
Key experience we are looking for:
Qualified Electrician
Strong background within electrical or technical service environments
Proven experience leading or managing service teams
Strong commercial understanding, including experience pricing service work
Strong people leadership and staff development skills
A growth mindset and the ability to lead teams through change and improvement
Experience using job management systems
Strong organisational and communication skills
Existing connections or knowledge of the Manawatū region would be beneficial
Full driver licence
