About the role:
This is a key leadership role responsible for the performance, structure and day to day running of the service division.
You will lead from the front, working closely with senior leadership while managing technicians, coordinating workflow and ensuring high quality service delivery to clients.
This role is about more than just keeping things running. You will play a hands on role in strengthening systems, lifting performance and supporting the next phase of growth.
It will suit someone who enjoys owning outcomes, leading people and driving operational improvements, while balancing commercial performance with team development.
What you will be responsible for:
· Leading, mentoring and developing the service team
· Driving operational efficiency and financial performance of the department
· Overseeing scheduling, workflow and resource allocation
· Pricing service work and supporting accurate job costing and margins
· Monitoring revenue, productivity and performance targets
· Ensuring jobs are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard
· Using systems such as Simpro to manage jobs, reporting and documentation
· Supporting invoicing accuracy and strong debtor management
· Building and maintaining strong client and supplier relationships
· Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working
· Strengthening team culture, accountability and capability
· Leading the team through ongoing change and continuous improvement
What we are looking for
This role requires a balance of technical credibility, leadership capability and commercial awareness.
· Qualified Electrician
· Proven experience leading or supervising service or trade teams
· Strong background in electrical or technical service environments
· Commercial confidence, including pricing, margins and job costing
· A practical, hands on leadership style that builds trust and accountability
· Ability to lead change and lift team performance
· Experience with job management systems (Simpro or similar)
· Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of the Manawatū market is advantageous
· Full driver licence
