About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Professional to support their finance operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with both their NZ team and Global HQ finance team based in Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
Manage end-to-end wages and payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments.
Processing of AP, AR and cashbook transactions (incl. follow-up)
Complete month-end accounting, including journals, accruals, and variance analysis, with investigation / follow-up.
Prepare and lodge GST / PAYE returns in line with NZ regulatory requirements.
Produce accurate and insightful financial reports for internal stakeholders and the Global CFO.
Perform bank, balance sheet, credit card and general ledger reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
Systems & Process Excellence
Maintain well-organised financial records and documentation.
Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in finance or accounting roles (3+ years preferred).
Strong understanding of NZ payroll, GST, and month-end requirements.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (eg. data extraction, pivot tables, advanced formulas, data analysis).
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data in a meaningful way
Experience in using Finance ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Xero, ACCREDO, MYOB or similar).
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across NZ and Australian teams.
