About the role
As an Electrical Service Technician, you'll be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining high-speed rapid door systems across commercial sites throughout New Zealand.
This role covers planned maintenance, breakdown response, technical support, and new installations. It suits someone confident working independently on-site, who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and strong customer relationships.
The role involves regular nationwide travel, including overnight stays (approximately one week per month, subject to workload).
What you'll be doing
Installing and commissioning high-speed rapid door systems
Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on door components and equipment
Performing planned preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations and best practice standards
Providing technical and product support to clients
Supporting workshop or factory-based tasks as required during non-travel periods
Operating hand tools, power tools, and EWP equipment safely
Ensuring worksites are left clean, safe, and professionally presented
Completing accurate and timely job documentation and service reports via tablet-based system
Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements and representing the business professionally on client sites
What you'll bring
Electrical qualification (required) and current NZ registration
Mechanical trade qualification or strong mechanical aptitude
Minimum 3 years' relevant industry experience
Experience servicing and fault-finding on commercial or industrial equipment
Clean, full driver's licence
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
A proactive, safety-first mindset
The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
A professional, customer-focused approach
