About the role

As an Electrical Service Technician, you'll be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining high-speed rapid door systems across commercial sites throughout New Zealand.

This role covers planned maintenance, breakdown response, technical support, and new installations. It suits someone confident working independently on-site, who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and strong customer relationships.

The role involves regular nationwide travel, including overnight stays (approximately one week per month, subject to workload).

What you'll be doing

  • Installing and commissioning high-speed rapid door systems

  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on door components and equipment

  • Performing planned preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations and best practice standards

  • Providing technical and product support to clients

  • Supporting workshop or factory-based tasks as required during non-travel periods

  • Operating hand tools, power tools, and EWP equipment safely

  • Ensuring worksites are left clean, safe, and professionally presented

  • Completing accurate and timely job documentation and service reports via tablet-based system

  • Adhering to all Health & Safety requirements and representing the business professionally on client sites

What you'll bring

  • Electrical qualification (required) and current NZ registration

  • Mechanical trade qualification or strong mechanical aptitude

  • Minimum 3 years' relevant industry experience

  • Experience servicing and fault-finding on commercial or industrial equipment

  • Clean, full driver's licence

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability

  • A proactive, safety-first mindset

  • The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively

  • A professional, customer-focused approach
