We were the Scania Dealer of the Year for 2023 following on from obtaining the Most Improved Dealer award for 2022. Our rockstar team have been key to making this happen and we require another heavy vehicle technician to help us chase our next award.
About the Role
As a Heavy Vehicle Technician / Diesel Mechanic, you will play an essential role in supporting the Scania fleets within South Auckland / North Waikato area to keep moving and delivering goods across the country. You will have the opportunity to sit down with friends and say, "that bag of chips was made possible because I kept the truck carrying the potatoes on the road."

You will be responsible for:
Carrying out scheduled maintenance / servicing
Diagnosing heavy vehicle (including trailer and electrical) faults
Repairing any identified faults
Being a part of our call out roster – 1 week on 3 weeks off
Maintaining the administration of your jobs i.e. write up, service sheets
Keeping yourself up to date with the latest learning / developments on Scania vehicles using the self-paced learning on Scania's in house training system MyCompass
Along with the rest of the team – keeping the workshop meticulously clean and presentable
Being a team player i.e. open to learning from the team and willing to support the learning of others
What You Need to Succeed
To knock this role out of the park, you should have the following:
NZQA Level 4 in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Road Transport) or similar i.e. a qualified technician.
Experience in a branded service and repairs dealership
Strong automotive diagnostic skills
Class 5 Drivers Licence
Friendly, professional and have a positive attitude
Attention to detail
Ability to work to deadlines
