About the role: 

This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys being on the tools while also taking ownership of work on site. You will play a key role delivering communications and data installations while helping grow this division within the business.

It’s a 45 hour week but you will be trusted to manage your time like a professional. Get the job done, look after your projects, and there is flexibility when life needs it.

Day to day, you will be responsible for:

  • Working on the tools installing structured cabling and data systems

  • Coordinating site work and supporting installation teams

  • Working closely with electricians and other trades to keep projects running smoothly

  • Pricing smaller communications and data jobs and supporting project estimates

  • Scheduling work, coordinating materials and managing installation timelines

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans and specifications

  • Monitoring workmanship to ensure work meets industry best practice

  • Preparing job records and project documentation

  • Supporting the development and growth of the communications and data division

The ideal Communications & Data Supervisor:

You will be someone who enjoys being hands on while also taking responsibility for leading work on site. This role suits someone who is practical, adaptable, and interested in helping grow a division within a well established business.

  • Qualified Electrician (non-negotiable)

  • Certified installer in recognised communications or data cabling systems

  • Strong experience in communications, structured cabling or data installations

  • Experience pricing or estimating communications and data work

  • Experience using Simpro or similar construction management software

  • Site Safe certification

  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans, drawings and specifications

  • Experience scheduling work, ordering materials and coordinating project resources

  • Strong people skills and the ability to work well with electricians and other trades

  • A practical, solutions focused mindset and a consistent approach to getting the job done

  • Strong local knowledge or existing connections within the Manawatū construction or electrical industry would be beneficial

  • Full driver licence
