Technical Account Manager - Auckland

About the role

You'll be the technical advisor for a portfolio of clients, ensuring their IT environment supports their goals. This includes understanding their challenges, designing solutions, leading pre-sales scoping, and ensuring outcomes align with expectations.

You'll run Monthly Account Meetings, QBRs, and annual IT strategy reviews, providing insights that influence decision-making and future planning. You'll also identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, and service expansion.

This is a hands-on, relationship-focused role that requires technical confidence, strong communication at a senior level, and a commercial mindset.

What you'll be doing

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key clients

  • Understand each client's IT landscape and translate needs into practical, high-value solutions

  • Lead pre-sales scoping and collaborate closely with Senior Engineers

  • Support onboarding, issue escalation, and continuous improvement

  • Facilitate Monthly AMs, QBRs, and annual strategy reviews

  • Identify upsell and renewal opportunities through genuine technical insight

  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation and reporting

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years in Technical Account Management or Engineering with client-facing/presales exposure

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and managed services

  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders

  • Solid Microsoft licensing knowledge; ease with vendor pricing models

  • Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, client focus and relationship skills
