About the role
This is a true business development role. You will be responsible for driving new business across the Central and Lower North Island, with a strong focus on Taupō, King Country and Manawatū.
You will be:
Prospecting hard and building a pipeline from scratch
Cold calling, visiting sites and getting in front of decision makers
Building relationships with builders, roofers, developers and project managers
Turning enquiries into confirmed sales
Following up quotes and tenders with discipline
Managing your own diary, travel and territory plan
Keeping your CRM sharp and your forecasts real
Owning revenue and growth targets across your territory
Reporting to the Directors, providing regular updates on pipeline, activity and performance
Working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and strong customer outcomes
You will need resilience. You will hear no. You will chase work. You will build trust over time and if you do it well, you will build a strong book of business that pays off.
The role reports to the Directors. It will suit someone who is self-driven, commercially sharp and comfortable working autonomously.
The ideal Area Sales Representative
Proven experience in sales or business development
Understands the construction sector
Confident cold caller who isn't afraid to knock on doors
Strong communicator who can influence and negotiate
Disciplined with activity and pipeline management
Comfortable travelling regularly across the North Island
Tech capable and confident using a CRM
Resilient and commercially minded
Self-motivated, trustworthy and comfortable working autonomously - no micromanagement here
