About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and professional CAD Design/Project Engineer to join our team on a part-time contract basis. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing technical drawings and administering engineering projects, with a focus on chute contracts. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for flexible working hours while contributing to exciting projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical drawings of products as required by the Operations Manager or Managing Director.

  • Administer engineering projects, particularly chute contracts, including completing shop drawings, contract documentation, and liaising with customers and suppliers to ensure contract timelines are met.

  • Maintain a structured filing system for all technical information and product drawings.

  • Uphold a professional approach in all business dealings, maintaining integrity and honesty.

  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure product information is current and accurate.

  • Assist in the development of new products and the creation of technical product and installation literature.

  • Promote the best interests of the company in dealings with all customers, particularly major plumbers and plumbing wholesalers.

  • Assist with maintaining quality control processes and oversee technical approvals where necessary.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of computers and design software, with a focus on product drawings in both 2D and 3D.

  • Expertise in Autodesk Inventor (experience with iPart and iAssembly is preferred).

  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent record-keeping abilities essential.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively listen and understand client needs.

  • A professional and diligent approach to work, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Ability to work from home or in the office on a flexible hour's basis.

  • Ability to respond to urgent requests when necessary.
