The Position:
As Management Accountant, you will be a hands on finance partner for our NZ plant, translating operational data into actionable insight. You will manage cost control, product costing, reporting, forecasting, and internal controls, helping the site improve financial and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage product costing data, including material prices and labour rates
Monitor and analyse manufacturing cost variances and operational performance
Provide timely financial and operational reporting (budget, actual, forecasts) for the plant
Support plant management routines and initiatives to drive profit improvement
Manage monthly closings, accruals, and inventory adjustments, ensuring accurate reporting
Implement and enforce financial processes and internal controls at site level
Contribute to performance action plans and track their impact on financial results
Support investment and cash management planning, including ROI analysis
Collaborate across departments to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
Translate financial information into plain language for operational teams, supporting understanding and decision making across all levels of the plant
Support and mentor team members, helping them understand their department's impact on the overall business
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week role based in New Plymouth. It is a highly visible, hands-on position that requires an onsite presence, actively partnering with plant leadership to drive decision making, improve performance, and manage risk.

Our Ideal Management Accountant:
Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or related discipline
2 - 3 years' experience in a similar operational accounting or management accountant role desired
Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment is highly desirable
Experience with SAP or ERP systems preferred
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels
Proactive, positive, and able to work both autonomously and within a team
Committed to health, safety, and wellness in the workplace
Demonstrated integrity, ethical behaviour, and a can-do attitude
Eager to learn, take initiative, and retain knowledge to support plant performance
A great sense of humour and ability to build rapport across teams
