About Us
Dairy Products NZ Limited is a small, dynamic UHT and dry powder processing facility based in central Takanini. We specialise in producing quality, value-added dairy and non-dairy ice cream and blended specialty powders for both domestic and export markets. Our focus is on innovation, quality, and care in everything we do.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Quality & Product Development Intern to join our team based in Takanini.
Working closely with the Quality and R&D Manager, you will support day-to-day quality assurance activities, help maintain compliance systems and contribute to exciting product development projects.
This is a varied, hands-on opportunity where no two days will be the same!
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting quality assurance processes, documentation and compliance programmes.
Assisting with product sampling, testing, environmental monitoring and shelf-life assessments.
Helping prepare for internal and external audits.
Supporting investigations, quality improvements and corrective actions.
Assisting with new product ideas, formulations and development projects.
Conducting competitor research and identifying market opportunities.
Working alongside production teams to maintain quality and safety standards.
Supporting customer enquiries and product-related projects.
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will be studying towards or have recently completed a qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Assurance or a related field.
You will also bring:
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A proactive attitude and good problem-solving abilities.
Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
An interest in food manufacturing, quality systems and product innovation.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Previous industry experience would be an advantage, but a positive attitude, curiosity and a willingness to get stuck in are what really matter!
