About the role:
We’re on the lookout for a talented Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician to join our growing crew at Taranaki Refrigeration in New Plymouth. This is a full-time role with plenty of variety, where no two days look the same. You’ll be hands on across commercial refrigeration and domestic/commercial air conditioning and heat pump systems, keeping things running smoothly for clients who rely on us to keep their spaces comfortable and compliant.
You’ll be a key part of a friendly, down-to-earth team that’s proud of the quality of work we deliver. If you enjoy solving problems, getting stuck in, and having a bit of fun along the way, you’ll fit right in.
Day to day you will:
Diagnose, service and repair a range of refrigeration and air conditioning systems
Install new equipment and upgrade existing systems
Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections
Provide expert technical advice and support to clients
Ensure work is completed to the highest standard and in compliance with industry regulations and safety protocols
Collaborate with the wider team to deliver exceptional customer service
What you’ll bring:
A formal qualification in refrigeration/air conditioning
Proven experience as a refrigeration engineer/air conditioning technician
Strong understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning principles, systems, and equipment
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Confidence working independently and as part of a team
A strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
Great customer service skills and a collaborative approach
A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in
